Dr. Marian Houser is a Professor at Texas State University in the Department of Communication. She joins us to share her knowledge on motivating and connecting with students, helicopter teaching, swearing in the classroom, and living mental wellness.

This month we are joined by Dr. Timothy Nokken. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University, and the Department Chair. He joins us to talk about his career researching Congress and we explore topics of trust, deliberation, and party dynamics as they relate to Congress.

This month we are joined by Dr. Michael Burns. He is a communication professor at Texas State University, where he is also the Director of Career Readiness in the Department of Communication Studies, Co-Director of CoSearch, and co-curator of TEDxTexasSateUniversity.

He shares with us about being a professional agitator, his collaborative problem-solving research program, covering the Olympics, the importance of general education courses and rural education, and of course throwing a birthday party for the pap smear.

In this month’s episode we are joined by Dr. Ryan Neville-Shepard. He is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies and the Director of Graduate Studies at the at University of Arkansas. He speaks with us about third party candidates, conspiracy theories, and his path to education.
