Hey, it's April 1st, April Fools! Not! This is no April Fools joke.
As I was reflecting on all the April Fools jokes I have found myself believing I guess I would have to agree to some extent that I am a fool at times. But what I would like to share with you today is what the Gospel has to say concerning those God sees as playing the fool as they live out their foolish lives without Him.
When you look at the Scriptures that use the word fool or foolish you begin to see a pattern of those lives who though they may say they believe in God their hearts are self-reliant and self-righteous. They honor Him with their lips but their hearts are far from Him.
Like the 10 virgins who are awaiting the return of Christ the foolish were unprepared not having the anointing of the Holy Spirit. They were told to go and purchase for themselves the oil that was needed. The foolish virgins had been religious but only wanted their ears to be tickled and not their hearts surrendered and transformed.
A life without surrender is foolish! Faith without a relationship is foolish. Faith without works is foolish! When the Bridegroom comes religion without true salvation is foolish!
