There is a question that has come to my attention recently… one that can support you to begin pinpointing the triggers and pressure points within your creative process where control takes ahold. I’ve noticed this question comes up for almost all of my clients, and over the last couple of months I’ve become increasingly aware of it within my own writing practise as well.
Because if you want to get to a place in your practise where you can feel exactly where the words want to go and how it wants to be written; not by controlling but by trusting and channeling and allowing… you first need to nurture an awareness of where control and perfectionism are showing up in your practise, and it’s vital that you make this awareness a priority.
So in this episode I would love to give you a small starting point; a way for you to begin honing your awareness around where control and perfectionism are showing up within your practise, and how you can begin relinquishing the power and possessiveness they hold so that you can instead surrender to a process that feels more instinctual, spontaneous, intimate and gentle.
It all starts with a question… and I have come to appreciate that this is simultaneously the best and worst question you can ask yourself as a creative. You’ll have to tune into this episode to find out what it is 🧐📝✨
