Deuteronomy 6:4-9   Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.       New Living 

 

GIVE THE GIFT OF TIME.

Luke 5:18-20    Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to take him inside to Jesus, 19 but they couldn't reach him because of the crowd. So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, "Young man, your sins are forgiven."   New Living 

SHOW NOURISHING LOVE.

1 Corinthians 13:1-4    If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.  4 Love is patient, love is kind.    NIV

 

CULTIVATE AN ENCOURAGING ENVIRONMENT.

1 Thessalonians 5:11    So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.    New Living 

Build up - oikodomeo (oy-kod-om-eh'-o); to be a house-builder, to construct. 

 

BE STRONG BUT NOT MEAN.

Ephesians 6:4   Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.     New Living 

 

COMMUNICATION OPENS UP DOORS.

James 1:19   Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. New Living
