Dr. Bruce Lipton has me thinking about my thoughts being more valuable than money. 25% of the total energy available is used by the brain. It uses energy equivalent to that of the legs of a marathon runner. An organ that weighs only a few pounds takes up 1/4 of our total energy supply. If I start to think of my thoughts as costing me energy then I’m more careful about what I think about. This is why humans are so unhappy. They haven’t found the off switch to their thoughts and they are constantly thinking. Our brain hasn’t evolved to keep us happy it’s evolved to keep us alive. When all our needs are met, full stomach, plenty of water, nice shelter and you feel safe the mind doesn’t know what to do with itself. It creates imaginary scenarios in the future you can start worrying about or things in the past that we maybe didn’t like and it reviews those so we can keep them from happening again. There is a way out of this and that is where our power resides.
