Keeping people in debt to you for 25 years when you’ve made $100,000,000 from a business venture that cost you $1m is not ok.⁣

In no other realm of business would this be ok.⁣

But in the music industry it is.⁣

⁣

Because the music industry is fucked.⁣

⁣

NO MORE.⁣

⁣

No more signing over your masters.⁣

⁣

Your masters generate so much revenue and they finance everything that these labels do.⁣

⁣

Not just for you, but for other artists too.⁣

⁣

Drake’s catalog is literally keeping the lights on a Universal.⁣

⁣

Not just for him,⁣

⁣

Or Cash Money.⁣

⁣

Or Young Money.⁣

⁣

For EVERYONE.⁣

⁣

Drake deserves an equity stake in every artist’s earnings who have used revenue from his catalog to generate more revenue.⁣

⁣

But since this is the music business, that would be preposterous.⁣

⁣
