It could be a parable about scarcity and abundance...how some people operate like there might not be enough in the world to go around, but really God is about abundance and plenty.
It could be a parable about the exploitation of the poor and how the rich elite of the world keep people in a lower social class in order to maintain power and position.
It's a complicated parable.
