Well this week saw a lot of movement on the twin issues of Presidential Impeachment, and Trade with China, but it may be difficult to call this progress.

First on the Impeachment of President Trump, on Friday the House Judiciary Committee voted along strict party lines to move the two Articles of Impeachment to the House Floor, for debate and a vote. It is, however, hard to see at this point how this process has been the bipartisan effort that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi envisioned when this all began.

Also on Friday, it was announced by both Beijing and Washington that phase 1 of a Trade Deal has been reached. Although again details are somewhat sketchy. What seems to be the case is that no new tariffs will be imposed on Monday, as previously scheduled. And there will be a partial roll-back of some of the previous tariffs. Exactly what the American's receive in return, is not entirely clear at this point. We will have to stay tuned for more detail.
