There remains 10 to 20 inches of soft springtime snow across most of the Adirondacks at lower elevations west of the Hudson River, in the Southwestern, Central, and Northern Adirondacks, and at higher elevations. Most areas above about 1,000 feet have at least a foot, with about 4-5 feet of snow at Lake Colden (at about 2,700 feet), and still 6 to 8 feet above there in the High Peaks and on other higher summits.
