Aurora Colorado: A gunman open fires at a movie theater killing 12 and injuring 58 others.

These days we have to be, have to be vigilant; as vigilant as our forefathers, in defending their homes, their land and the country.

I know it's a movie theater and the last thing you would think of, is someone having an ar15 and open firing, and yet it happened.

It is up to us, to be aware of the people around us, to put down those distracting smartphones and look up, look around, greet people, look them in the eyes, just to be aware of our surroundings.  To be aware of anything suspicious. It may be close to paranoia but if that saves lives be aware we must.

I am not saying I could have observed anything different if I was at that theater, the fact is I am scared to even imagine such a thing, but what I am saying is, just what if a pair of aware eyes spotted an oddity in the situation and shouted gun! or shooter!.    This is just all in hindsight and from a bystanders observation and wishful thinking.

Anaheim California; suspected gang members were shot by police officers on two separate occasions which ignited public demonstrations against the use of deadly force by police, but during the demonstrations other suspected gang members threw projectiles at police which commenced the procedures of police for hostile protesters, resulting to injuries raging from dog bites to rubber bullet caused bruises.

Now why would the community protest in behalf of a known gang member?  I sympathize for the family of the victim, but wouldn't it have been better if they expressed their concern for the victim way before this happened, way before he joined a gang? Payed attention to him and his welfare and told him of his potential and about the consequences of his actions?

According to the report there were children in the crowd of protesters, neighbors confronting the officers who shot the alleged gang member. Now why would a parent bring their kids to a portest? Wouldn't the proper reaction if there is an incident in your neighborhood is to run in the house, lock the doors and windows and protect your family? Why would a parent stand around at a commotion with the children?

* Ponder upon This

If we the public were not as comfortable as we are now, to allow government to implement laws that makes it harder for us to carry fire arms.  Then may be, if at least a third of the audience in that theater, where the senseless massacre occurred, had concealed carry and were properly trained for it, then may be the threat was resolved faster lowering casualties and injuries.

Imagine if majority of the public were properly armed and trained, a guy like this Holmes guy would think twice before executing such a heinous crime or at least be solved before he could kill 12.

The argument is always, that guns are dangerous and having the public armed might result in more shooting with simple arguments such as road rage, neighborly or domestic disputes and so forth.

Well, has those things stopped with all the gun laws that we have now?

Has that stopped gangs arming themselves?

Has the illegal arms dealer at the back alley gone out of business?

In cities or states that the public are encouraged to be trained in fire arms and carry it on their person, there seems to be less crime as statistics show.  Then there must be something to that logic doesn't it?

One would say, well how about the incident in anaheim which i just mentioned.  if the public was armed then the police would have had a bigger problem.  Well that incident was triggered by the shooting of a suspected gang member. I would think that gangs that live on crime, stealing, protection money, drug dealing, would not survive if the mom and pop
