Guests: Thomas Ricks

Journalist and author THOMAS RICKS’ new book, Churchill & Orwell: The Fight for Freedom is a biography of two of British history’s greatest figures.  While they never actually met, Ricks sees a link between the writer George Orwell and Prime Minister Winston Churchill in their tireless effort to counter the threats of authoritarianism and totalitarianism.  Ricks, who writes the “The Best Defense” column for Foreign Policy, comes in to talk about his new book and why Churchill and Orwell’s moral courage are particularly relevant today.  Marty will also talk to Ricks about the Trump’s generals, including Michael Flynn, H.R. McMaster, and James Mattis, and get his thoughts on Trump’s meeting with NATO leaders.
