Thomas Sankara and his Marxist leadership

Yesterday was the 15th of October, a day where one of Africa’s Pan Africanist leaders was assassinated. Thomas Sankara was President of Burkina Faso from 1983 to 1987. He is viewed in some quarters as Africa’s own Che Guevara as he was a revolutionary. Looking at leadership in Africa, why are we no longer producing leaders who are about the people? Why are leaders like Thomas Sankara killed for standing for that which is right? What can we learn from his style of leadership?
