For two thousand years the knowledge of the return of the Lord has been the central hope of every generation. Yet they are now gone and we remain. The first century churches were alive with that hope. In fact, the greeting between the Jews was always Shalom. But when the gospel was preached to the Greeks, the greeting "shalom" no longer worked. The term "Maranatha" then was the common greeting between them. Maranatha has duel meaning. That Jesus came, and that He is coming again. This term was said in the coming and going of their lives. But not now. You would think that after over two thousand years we would be shouting Maranatha to one another. Instead it is now only a Christian marketing word to sell more t-shirts, stickers, caps and poster art.   The indictment stands clear. The reason that term is no longer being used  is because no one believes it anymore. If they do, they do not believe it in their hearts.

They "have heard of it with the hearing of the ears but their hearts are far from it." Rather it should be that their hearts are far from Jesus. They are fighting for "a nation that cannot save them." Where is your heart today? Do you believe that Jesus is about to show up at anytime? There is a powerful flow through the saints of God all over the world right now that are dreaming dreams of saying goodbye to friends and loved ones in dreams. They are dreaming of running outside being compelled to look up into the sky with the thrill of great joyful anticipation. Jesus is coming back, and it is clear that it will happen on a day like any other day, when people least expect it.   We are soon going to hear "the sound of the last trump," and we will enter into heaven. Even if you do not believe in the rapture, it is okay. We are brothers and sisters still. This life is short, and the one to come will be "world without end." What you do here will meet you there in heaven at the Bema Seat of Jesus Christ. I believe there is a very short window and what we do with our time here now is the most critical of any surviving generation that will usher in the end of the church age. Do not set your heart on things here, but in heaven where you will spend throughout the age of ages. Be ready. Those that are ready are those that are watching, If you are not watching you are not ready. Now is a good time to be ready, and be watchful, you will not be disappointed at His coming.
