Why was stubbornness and a refusal to listen to one's parents punishable by death in the Old Testament?
As with many other historically gross sins, society has come to celebrate a spirit of rebellion under the guise of bravery and ingenuity. Is what some call an “inevitable phase of growing up”, really that? Is it merely a physiological phenomenon, or is it a spiritual malady, healed only by a spiritual power?
And why, of all the Ten Commandments, does this commandment have a promise attached to it?
