This is devotional thought number 69 in our devotional series, “Stewarding the Heart.”

“In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.” (Psalms 62:7).

Only in the Lord do we find peace in the time of trouble. Only in the Lord do we find stability when all the ground around us is as the shifting seismic plates of the western U. S. Only in the Lord can we put our trust. He has demonstrated His faithfulness to human kind from the beginning, in the Eden of old. He created all things perfectly and when Adam sinned, He enacted His plan of salvation so that, one day, we could live with Him in paradise without sin unto salvation.

The blessing of all is that we do not need to search high and low for the best possible candidate for salvation and refuge. Jesus is the only one that provides ultimate protection, strength and salvation. All others are imitators. Only in the Lord can we place our trust. He will never disappoint those who love and worship Him.
