“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Revelation 12:10–11).
If you are an overcomer, this message is for you! Share your story, so others may learn to overcome, too.
There are far too many who minimize what God maximizes. In our theme text, the Lord shows His power and salvation, which triumphs over the devil every single time. He pairs His power with our testimony (of His power) as a dynamo of overcoming every besetting sin. If you think of yourself more than God here, you will miss this. God wants us to share what great things He has done for us, so others can be encouraged to try Him. Here’s what the Bible says: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.” (Psalm 107:2). God wants us to maximize the testimony of His goodness as a spiritual outgrowth, partner even, with the blood of the Lamb.
Let me make it plain: If God has been good to you and has set you free from bondage to sin, tell somebody. It may save their lives. The accuser is always bringing up old stuff about how miserably you have failed. He is always dredging up your inadequacies, ineptness, and faults. He is always majoring on your weaknesses and skeletons in your closet while God is majoring on, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” (Romans 5:7–9).
Open your mouth and share your testimony of God’s goodness and power so somebody can become victorious over the sins, thoughts, and debilitating feelings they have struggled with for years. Give someone a chance at life. Tell your story.—L. David Harris (www.DavidWritesaLot.com)
