This is devotional thought number 20 in our devotional series titled, “The Faith I Live By”
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;” (Acts 3:19).
You can do it! I KNOW you can do it! How am I so certain you can do it? The Bible says so. The Bible says you can repent, be converted, be forgiven, and be refreshed in God’s presence. Yes! You can do it.
Many times in life, we feel like we are so far from God that we cannot return to Him. We have made massive sin mistakes and only now do we sense our need of Him. While sin is no light matter, neither is it to be trifled with, we have a great God who loves to save sinners. Can you imagine? God loves you so much that even though He knew you would disregard Him at times, He provided a way of escape. He gave you (and me) His unique and holy Son, so we would not need to lose eternal life. What a God! You should be ecstatic about this. God made every provision imaginable to deliver us from every besetting sin.
This is what I need you to do today: accept the fact that you are a sinner and cannot do anything without God’s help. Know, without a doubt, that God is not pleased with sin, but is pleased to deliver you from its power right now if you surrender to Him. Accept the refreshing Holy Spirit as your Counselor in all situations who will guide you into all that Jesus taught while He lived among us. Know that Jesus was victorious over sin and the devil, so you can walk in the light of His victory. Oh, and one last thing - REJOICE! Rejoice knowing Jesus is on your side, and will not leave you to fend for yourself.
By God’s grace, this is the faith I live by, let this be the same for you, in Jesus’ name.—L. David Harris (http://bit.ly/BQuotable)
