“Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, And passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger for ever, Because he delighteth in mercy.” (Micah 7:18).

News Flash: God is not out to get you! Let me say that again. God is not out to get you! He takes pleasure in being merciful. (Now back to your regularly scheduled program).

If God is for you, who can be against you (and He is...for you)? Every little step you take in the direction of true relationship with God is known and inspired by Him. Every desire to do right, when you have failed so miserably in the past, is cherished by Him. Every inkling that your life is incomplete, and that you need help to live the fullness according to His plan, He knows. In these cases, He is already at work, but He then sends additional power our way to meet the tiny efforts we have already put forth. Before we call, He answers our heartfelt cries for help. He is with us every step of the way.

What if you viewed God as being in your corner, cheering for your success? What if you saw Him as rooting for you, and bragging about you to the heavenly hosts, about how much you have grown? Would you have more courage to continue moving in God’s direction? Would you have more courage to keep the faith and surrender more of your will to Him as you experience victory-after-victory along your journey?

God is pleased to extend mercy to you, my friend. He is pleased to answer your prayers of faith, enfeebled though they be at times. He is delighted to enfold you into His powerful arms, to enable you to live according to Christ’s example. God is not out to get you. He has laid all on the line to save you. Give in. Allow Him to do His perfect work in your life, and you will be saved. Full stop.—L. David Harris (www.DavidWritesaLot.com)
