Today’s Scripture Focus: Romans 1:18-20

We are focusing on sin recovery principle number two of 12: “We believe that only God’s power can restore us to sanity. His power is infinitely greater than our own.”

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none that doeth good.” (Psalm 14:1).

God gives every human being, regardless of socioeconomic status, cultural milieu, or birthplace, a way to know Him. He opens a window for us to peek into the mysteries of His existence and power. Through that which He created, the land, sea, creatures, and heavens, He reveals Himself, on some level, to the world. The seen indicates the mysterious. The tangible manifests the divine. Thus it is that all people are without excuse for ignoring our Creator. He has revealed enough of Himself in nature to inspire further discovery and investigation. He has revealed enough of Himself in the beauty of the works of His hands to inspire our curiosity about the Creator.

One major contributor to us being out of control at times is acting like God is not sovereign – like He is not worthy of our highest honor, even to the point of submitting to Him. We fight against the essence of who we are, considering in whose image we were created, when we disrespect God’s plans for our lives. How can the creature slight the Creator?

So it really stands to reason then, that we should reach out to grasp the full revelation of the unseen One, to receive the full manifestation of His will in our lives. It is then, and only then, that we will receive a right mindset about this life and eternity. It is then, and only then, that we will be able to overcome the struggles we face everyday. Making God our priority is key to our sanity and fruitfulness.—L. David Harris (http://bit.ly/BQuotable)
