This is devotional thought number 4 in our devotional series titled, “Sing Unto the Lord a New Song: Meditations From the Book of Psalms.”

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; With favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:11–12).

Get ready for the day! Get ready to face the blessings of hope. Get ready for the favor of the Holy Spirit. Get ready for answered prayers. Get ready for trials that seem hard for the moment, but eventually give way to victory. Get ready to shout for joy! Get ready to praise God’s name! Get ready for the blessings that only come to the righteous. Get ready for the crown that covers you like a shield. Get ready to proclaim, with your life, that you love the name and essence of God! Get ready for God to defend you when you need it most.

How can we all be ready for the richest blessings God has to offer? The secret, which is worth all the riches of the universe is quite simple: put all of your trust in God. That’s it! If you unashamedly, unreservedly trust God with managing your life, through good times and bad times, you will be a heavenly blessings magnet. At times you need them most, God will lavish love, blessing, favor, goodwill with God and humanity, respect, power, victory, and joy upon you.

Every day the Lord lends you His divine breath, surrender your will to Him, pledge your trust, and enjoy His blessings regardless of trials. He has already promised to defend you.
