Today’s Scripture Focus: Galatians 6:7-10

We are focusing on sin recovery principle number five of 12: “We confessed to God, and when necessary, to people we have offended, the exact nature of our offenses.”

Sowing and reaping is a consistent principle in nature. When a human male sows a seed in a human female, the fruit is a human child, not a monkey or a chicken. When grape seeds are sown, fig trees do not grow. When Moringa seeds are sown, sweet potatoes will not be reaped. This is a basic law of nature. In the beginning, God created each species in both the plant and animal kingdoms to produce after their kinds.

The same is true in the spiritual world. If I (God forbid) choose to sow seeds of discord and strife among people, the negative outcome will result. If I plant seeds of disrespect or cheating, those will bear fruit after their kind. What if I sow the seeds of truth? What will be the result? What if I plant the seeds of love? What if I plant the seeds of righteousness?

As we continue on this road of recovery from sin, we need to check our seed storage. What are we sowing? God’s justice must not be mocked. You may have buried seeds of deceit, and you are now reaping the harvest. Ask the Lord to show you how to cooperate with Him in destroying the roots and begin sowing seeds of holiness. There will be difficulties during your spiritual growth season to be sure, but if you continue to sow righteousness by faith, righteousness will be your eternal reward.—L.
