Today’s Scriptures:
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Revelation 16:13–14).
“And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, And unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: Should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: If they speak not according to this word, It is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:19–20).

Today’s Observation:
Proceed with caution! This is great counsel especially for those of us who are living in the last days. Jesus and several Bible writers cautioned us to beware of where we get our advice. They all taught that there would be evil spirits and false prophets in the last days whose only concern would be leading people astray.
Our lives are now being inundated with spiritual warfare. Television, literature, and other media are filled with magic and mysticism. Many people including crime-fighting entities routinely consult psychics for wisdom. Even some religious people believe they can consult dead relatives who are still alive in some other spiritual form when the Bible says they are completely unconscious, unaware, and uninvolved with everything on earth as they await resurrection (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6). Some parishioners, priests, pastors, and prelates study books written by mystics that are completely counter to Bible teachings. They would have us empty our minds to meditate, when the Bible teaches us to have the mind in us that was also in Christ Jesus while meditating upon His Law day and night. They would have us to pray certain words or phases ad nauseam in order alter our consciousness or to imagine our God doing this or that, when the Bible says that we must not recite vain repetitions in prayer as the heathens do. God is just waiting to give the richest blessings to submitted people who ask in full assurance of faith.
Conclusion:
The fact is that Satan has complicated life on earth by deceiving people into expecting answers to life’s problems from pills, potions, so-called spirit guides, and books and games chock full of tricks (not treats). To this the Bible says, if the counsel we get from anywhere, even if it appears to be an angel from heaven, contradicts the Holy Scriptures, let that source or purported heavenly being be accursed (Galatians 1:8-13). We have a loving God in heaven who is ready, willing, and available to speak to us. He has made provision through His Word, Holy Spirit, and divine providence to give us clarity on anything that perplexes our minds. Are we listening?
A Prayer for Your Hearts:
Lord, Will you please help us all be satisfied with your simple truths where there is safety and salvation? In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.--L. David Harris (www.davidwritesalot.com)
