Today’s Scripture:
“And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” (Revelation 22:6–7).
Today’s Observation:
You may recall that way back on August 26th of this year when we started our readings of the Revelation, that we said it is our privilege to go directly to the Source of life and revelation, God Himself through His Word, to behold the last great revelation of His character and plans for us through these last days. We also said that there is no doubt things are going to get crazier on this planet, but our God has promised a blessing to all who are willing to keep the focus of our lives in the right direction. We have been asking the Lord to open our understanding. We have been asking for His sweet Holy Spirit. We have been asking Him to help us submit our wills to Him. We have been asking Him to help us prioritize our lives, so troubles, career, silly entertainment, gossip, pride, and doubts all get out of our way. We said it is now time, more than any other time in history, for us to receive this revelation and hear what God has to say.
Near the end of the Revelation, God’s holy angel testified that all he showed John was true and faithful. The powerful promises of blessing and strength for all to become overcomers are true and faithful. The ominous warnings and reproofs are true and faithful. The prophetic pronouncements are true and faithful. The testimony of our King’s soon return is true and faithful.
Having surveyed most of the Revelation to this point, there remains a solemn question for us all: Are we willing to keep and do the true and faithful sayings of this book? Our ultimate answers to this question, demonstrated practically in our lives will determine our eternal outcome. The blessing is that God stands ready, willing, and available to make us as true and faithful as that which has been revealed. Why not allow Him to do it?
A Prayer for Your Hearts:
Lord, thank you for being true and faithful. Will you please help us become just like you in this regard? In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.--L. David Harris (www.davidwritesalot.com)
