Today’s Scripture Promise:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9).
Today’s Observation:
God has an interesting way of doing things. Today’s theme text highlights the fact that God recognizes we cannot do anything without Him or keep a vow of dedication to Him. Therefore, He establishes a power base for all who would receive it by faith. You may wonder where I get all that from so few words. I am so glad you asked.
The promise of reaping a bountiful, Spiritual harvest is contingent upon two factors: One, the Lord presupposes that we have received His power to do well. Through Paul He said that we should not become weary in well doing. Since we, according to Romans 8:8 & Philippians 4:13, cannot please God in our own strength, if we are to be rewarded for doing well, it is a fact that we have accepted God’s supernatural power in our lives. He establishes a power base for us.
Two, the Lord promises a bountiful, spiritual harvest to those who faint not! Have you ever faltered on anything in your relationship with God? Don’t answer. I know you, like me, have faltered more times than you can count. Therefore, if God is making a promise to those who do not faint or falter, this means those who don’t, have been given the rich benefits of the following Scripture: “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, That the everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; And to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28–31). As I said in the beginning, God establishes a power base for all who wish to do His will. Now here’s the kicker: After He gives us all the power we need to do His will, He then rewards us with a bountiful, spiritual harvest. That’s a great deal! God rewards us for the work He has done in our lives, because He knows very well that we cannot be faithful any other way.
Today’s Marching Orders:
Accept God’s power to do His will today. Refuse to focus on you, and focus on Him instead.—L. David Harris (www.DavidWritesaLot.com)
