Based Upon Ezekiel 33:7-9

“So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
What if, while you were in a restaurant having a delicious meal with your husband or wife, you noticed something odd going on at the next table? You realized that while the patron was away from the table, the waiter poured bleach into their orange juice. When the patron returns, do you tell them what you had seen or keep it a secret? Would you think it an intrusion to warn the unwary diner? Would you be concerned that that person may not receive your warning well?

What if the Lord gave you a message to a dying world? This message is one of repentance and you know that if the people do not heed it, they will be lost eternally? Would you allow the possibility that people may reject the message that God had given you or that they may be offended, to deter you from delivering it? Many of us do just that. We sometimes see people around us languishing and running down the road to eternal death, yet we do not warn them. Some of us don’t even bother to tell them about the road to life. The Bible says in that case, that person’s blood would be on our hands. We could have delivered someone from eternal condemnation, but we chose not to.

It is a wonderful thing to be on the positive side of this equation. If the Lord has given us a message and we deliver it faithfully, we have done all that the Lord required, and if, God forbid, they should continue down the wrong path, it won’t be because of our selfishness. Noah is a good example of a faithful messenger whom many people rejected to their own demise. Let us learn a lesson from his life, that no matter how people may respond, we must give them the opportunity to know and love the truth. Pray that the Lord will teach you how to be a good steward of His word. By all means; deliver the message.–L. David Harris (www.davidwritesalot.com)
