Based Upon Deuteronomy 7:14-15

“Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.”
From the very beginning of time, God intended that all of His creatures remain whole and free of all diseases. The blight of sin upon the earth was clearly seen when the intended plan was usurped by the choice of humankind to live contrary to God’s commands. His commands were always in line with all of the laws that He instituted for our well-being. Not the least of all of His laws is the law of nature. This law can be described from many different aspects, but every aspect must support productive and healthy living. Even in this world, following the inception of sin, God has bestowed grace to live free from many of the effects of disease and decay in our being.

The Israelites were, in many ways, to be trophy specimens of God’s grace. Surrounding nations were to peer in on the lives of these chosen ones, and witness their prosperity and the protection of God on all of their possessions, and they, themselves, begin to worship Him. One of the promises God made was that if they followed all of His commandments, statutes, and judgments, He would insulate the Israelites from the diseases and barrenness of the heathens of that day. “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.” (Psalms 105:37). While they followed the Lord implicitly, He made good on His promise. It was only when they violated natural, spiritual, and hygienic laws that they were diseased like the neighboring nations.

The Lord is in the business of making His people whole even today. “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;” Psalms (103:1-3). When it brings God glory, He answers the prayers of repentant sinners who seek diligently for healing. Many are sick today because of habits that violate the natural laws of health. If in these cases, we were turn to the Lord to receive forgiveness and full understanding of the bodies He has entrusted us with, He would make Himself available to forgive and heal our diseases.

Trust the Lord for everything, including good health. It brings Him joy to preserve those who trust Him from the disease and suffering that plagues the earth. He receives much glory when His obedient ones are able to show lost souls His way, so they too can be saved. They too can be healed even of physical ailments when they trust in the Lord and obey Him if it is according to His will.-–L. David Harris (www.davidwritesalot.com)
