Two days ago, I stumbled upon an interview with British-American author and motivational speaker, Simon Sinek, about… MILLENNIALS, and I really want to share parts of it here. In the interview, Sinek talks about our generation’s dependence on technology, how it’s affected our behavior, influences the way we think, and how we’re perceived by older generations. The interview has been reposted by a number of YouTube channels and watched by millions all over the world. It has been praised by many (probably not millennials), but Sinek also received a lot of criticism for being too generalizing.
While I agree that Sinek sometimes paints our generation with very broad brushstrokes, I can also recognize myself and my friends in a lot of what he mentions. Although it can be hard hearing someone criticize your generation for being a bunch of self-entitled, impatient, technologically dependent kids with bad social skills, it’s also important. Listening to Sinek makes you want to go out and actually experience the world around you in a different way. I don’t want to give too much of this short interview away, so just listen to it and please let me know. You can get in touch with me on my website, www.adamgavin.com, or Instagram @adamgavin
So, Simon, what is the Millennial question?
