One of the things I'm asking God to help me with is how I react when feeling slighted. Collaboration is extremely important when working on large Projects. Everyone on the team brings something to the table. However, as I've pursued certain goals there have been moments of feeling belittled.
Today, I was incredibly outspoken in standing up for myself (for a change). Yet, it only seemed to make matters worse. Ultimately, I had to walk away while fighting the urge to get the last word in.
In the end, I felt the Spirit place a simple message on my heart: "You don't have to convince anyone of who you are." You know who you are. That needs to be enough. Whether someone acknowledges your hard work or they dismiss you, your Confidence remains the same.
Suddenly, I realized how much I want to prove that I belong when I really don't have to. My Work speaks volumes. Swallow pride. Ego. Let it go. Still, if your collaboration doesn't create the best work environment, you may need to find a better team.
