Three Academy String Quartets
Today we hear from three string quartets formed at the Music Institute of Chicago Academy in the 2023-2024 school year. They play music by Haydn, Beethoven, Puccini, Grieg, Prokofiev and Ginastera.
Some players have appeared on Introductions previously:
– Violinist Clark Snavely gave a solo recital in August 2024 and appeared with a previous Academy quartet in August 2023.
– Tristan Zhu appeared as a soloist in February 2024 and as a chamber musician in August 2023 and in August 2021. He’s scheduled to give a solo violin recital on March 15, 2025.
– Serge Kalinovsky gave a solo cello recital in June 2024 and performed with previous Academy chamber groups in October 2023 and in August 2022.
– Lauren Kim, Emily Chen and Lucy Wu previously appeared with piano trios in October 2023.
