In the Podcast we talk about Elf on the Shelf, which we mentioned being relatively new. After editing this episode and looking into it, turns out the book was published in 2005. Making this year the 20th anniversary of Elf on the Shelf. This is absolutely crazy to me. That means that there is a max of 2 generations of Elf on the Shelf fans, and that second generation are YOUNG. I thought relatively new as in like the mid 90s or something, which is still new but not like Post 9/11. Although in typing this it actually makes a lot of sense that this NSA elf toy becomes popular in the second half of Ol' Dubbleya's 8 years. Anyway, if you are a family that loves this silly little elf all power to you. We have a friend of the show actually that was recently peer pressured by a different parent to make sure that they have an Elf on the Shelf because if they didn't have one then their kid would think they weren't special enough to be spied on by Santa, or worse the other persons kid would realize that this family doesn't need to be spied on and that means they were extra bad or maybe start not believing. So thats neat. Anyway, Happy Holidays everyone!
