Not mentioned in this episode is how the penny isn't gone, and if you think it is, great! It should be! However, it shouldn't just be technically gone, it should be removed by Congress (power of the purse) and in it's removal should be rules like if you want to still be charging people pennies and they pay cash, you should be required to round down and not up! Right? Because why should you be punished for a company being lazy? The reason everything ends in pennies anyway is because they don't trust you or employees so them being rewarded is criminal. And also, if you are getting rid of the penny because of any reason to get rid of the penny you also need to get rid of the nickel! If you just pretend to get rid of the penny it's just performance for a headline and not actual smart or thought out legislation! And then on 49 cent day at Ross, if you but just one item and pay with cash you should only have to pay 40 cents, or just market it as 50 cent day which is just as cool because the economy is not great!
