Hugo was awarded a scholarship that allowed him to study in Taiwan during his college years, and he spent a transformative five years there. Immersed in the language and culture, Hugo became fluent in Mandarin and developed a deep connection to Taiwan, considering it his second home.


Now a father himself, Hugo and his Chinese wife are raising their children to be trilingual in Spanish, Mandarin and English. Drawing from his passion for language and education, Hugo not only works as a high school Spanish teacher but also publishes Spanish books and audiobooks to aid his children's language learning journey. His dedication extends beyond his own family, as he aims to help other children learn Spanish through his work.
