Three of Wands

Listen Later

In today’s episode, we are exploring the Three of Wands, a card that speaks to vision, creative readiness, and the sacred pause before movement. This is the moment after the spark has been lit but before the journey unfolds. It asks us to check in with our dreams and our direction, and to trust in the energy we’ve already set in motion.

Whether you're in the early stages of building something meaningful or feeling stuck in a liminal in-between, the Three of Wands invites you to reflect, refine, and ready yourself for what's next.

What we explore in this episode:

  • How the Three of Wands shows up visually in multiple decks

  • Symbolism of fire, light, flowers, and shadows in connection to creativity

  • Astrological ties to the Sun in Aries and the second decan

    • Reflections on ambition, discomfort, and leaving behind what is known

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

    • The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington

    • Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom

    • Ophidia Rosa Tarot deck by Leila & Olive

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

The first season, I introduced tarot through talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

I pulled the Page of Wands (or as it’s called in the Desert Illuminations Tarot, the Page of Chilies!) and honestly, it couldn’t have been a more aligned message to close out this episode. The card reminds us: We don’t have to do it all alone. Sometimes a new path calls for a guide, a mentor, or even just a supportive presence to help shape the direction of that energy.
