Sermon Text: John 11:45-57

Sermon Title: Three Responses

Main Idea: How we respond to the Word and Work of God in our lives reveals where our hearts are. In this text, we see three responses to Jesus' work in raising Lazarus from the dead. These three responses are similar to some of the ways we respond to God's working in our life.

1. The Committed- For some unbelievers, the work called them to believe in Christ. For others, such as Mary, it was a call to more fully commit to following Christ. We must commit to follow Him as Lord.

2. The Concerned and Conceited- The Pharisees were concerned about losing their power. They thought they owned the temple and they thought they ran the nation. We must not be more concerned about our pride than God's Will.

3. The Curious- Some people were just curious about whether or not Jesus would show up at the festival. Today, some of us are here more for the drama than the worship.

Conclusion- We need to be committed to following Christ as Lord instead of worrying about our status or drama.
