What happens when God's blessings lead to pride instead of gratitude?

In 2 Chronicles 26, King Uzziah experienced extraordinary success. God strengthened him, gave him victory over his enemies, and made his name famous. But when his heart became lifted up with pride, he stepped outside of God's will, taking upon himself a role God had not assigned to him. His pride led to his downfall.
