Our guest today is Roger Simmons. Roger is a Community Coordinator for FVCA  & Cross-Cultural Instructor / Facilitator for CrossInCulture. He grew up in section 8 housing in the West of Elgin and now he works in the same communities in which he grew up. He tells the redemptive story of how he almost became a drug dealer and explains what it looks like to Thrive in the hood. We dove in and talked about racism, welfare, and systematic discrimination. When was the last time you dialogued with someone who was a different color than you? Maybe you should give it a try. Also, go drink a (very) little bit of coffee.

We had the honor of sitting down with Sheryl Stoller of Stoller Parent coaching. In both her private practice and in her work as the resident parent coach at The Center for Identity Potential, Sheryl specializes in coaching parents of intense children who are often (un)identified as gifted and twice exceptional (2E). Today we talk about what thriving means to her, and as always we end with throwing a bowl of nuts… I mean… giving a challenge for you to try.
