Self-helpism is a multibillion-dollar industry that teaches that through the power of positive thinking, self-examination, and goal setting that we can achieve the greatest versions of ourselves, but is it as good as it sounds? As someone who used to be infatuated with self-improvement, these are the dangers no one told me about. I learned the hard way that we cannot be both the problem and the solution.
