Welcome back to Through the Bible. Today, we continue our journey through Genesis, and what we are about to see brings us face to face with both the fulfillment of God’s promises and the testing of true faith.

Up to this point, we have followed Abraham through moments of obedience, doubt, and growth. God has made incredible promises to him, including the promise of a son. Now, in these chapters, we finally see that promise come to life.

Isaac is born, and what once seemed impossible becomes real. It is a powerful reminder that God’s timing is always right, even when it feels delayed. But as quickly as joy comes, challenges follow. We will see tension within the family and difficult decisions that must be made.

Then we arrive at one of the most intense moments in Scripture. God asks Abraham to do something that seems impossible to understand—to offer his son. This is not just a test of obedience, but a test of trust. Abraham must decide if he truly believes that God will keep His promise, no matter what.

We will also see moments of fear return, reminding us that faith is not always a straight path. Even strong believers can struggle. Yet through it all, God remains steady, faithful, and true.

Finally, we will witness a moment of loss as Sarah passes away. Even in this, Abraham takes a step forward in faith, securing a place in the land God promised.
