Did you hear the news? The Xbox One managed to outsell the PlayStation 4 two months in a row. This is obviously a big deal considering that Microsoft's current-gen system has been on the ropes this entire time. Because of this, we had to make this subject our first main topic.
Our second topic is about how preorders are actually becoming more ridiculous these days. This (somehow) leads into a discussion about how games should follow the early access model so that fans have a say into how a game is made. We eventually come back to the topic and talk about how pre-orders aren't all that bad and how ultimately they are for the consumer to invest in or ignore.
Our third (yes, THIRD) main topic is on the latest Nintendo Direct. To be honest, the real reason this is a main topic is because we have News Editor Anthony Nash on this week who is an avid Nintendo fan debating our own Chris Sealy who... isn't.
On the gaming news front, we go further into December's NPD numbers. The top 10 games of 2014 were revealed and while there were the usual suspects, there were some surprise omissions.
Pop Culture news is Disney-centric this week. We discuss, or rather... celebrate, that George Lucas had originally intended to direct Star Wars: Episode VII but decided not to. Bullet. Dodged. We also give our impressions of the latest trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. A trailer that Brian Munjoma has no doubt seen several hundred times just today.
This week’s Throwdown features: Tony Polanco (host), Emilio Lopez, Brian Munjoma, Brett Murdock, Chris Sealy, and Anthony Nash.
