Just like Zechariah, Elizabeth, Mary, & Joseph, John the Baptist had his part in God's plan of redemption. Although we don't talk about him much around the Christmas season, John played a major role - a role prophesied hundreds of years before he was born - and he fulfilled that role willingly.
