Christians should honor civil authority as part of loving our neighbors—paying what we owe, speaking respectfully, and living above reproach. Yet our highest allegiance is to the Lord; no human rule may claim what belongs to Him. When laws align with goodness, we obey gladly; when they demand compromise, we choose faithful resistance with humility, courage, and peace, accepting the cost if needed.
