From the best-selling author of It Happened at the Fair and Fair Play comes a compelling historical novel about a progressive "New Woman" - the girl behind Tiffany's chapel - and the love that threatens it all.
As preparations for the 1893 World's Fair set Chicago and the nation on fire, Louis Tiffany - heir to the exclusive Fifth Avenue jewelry empire - seizes the opportunity to unveil his state-of-the-art, stained glass, mosaic chapel, the likes of which the world has never seen. But when Louis' dream is threatened by a glassworkers' strike months before the fair opens, he turns to an unforeseen source for help: the female students at the Art Students League of New York.
Eager for adventure the young women pick up their skirts, move to boarding houses, take up steel cutters, and assume new identities as the Tiffany Girls. Tiffany Girls is the heartwarming story of the impetuous Flossie Jayne, a beautiful budding artist who is handpicked by Louis to help complete the Tiffany chapel. Though excited to live in a boarding house when most women stayed home, she quickly finds the world is less welcoming than anticipated. From a Casanova male to an unconventional married couple and a condescending singing master, she takes on a colorful cast of characters to transform the boarding house into a home while racing to complete the Tiffany chapel and make a name for herself in the art world. As challenges mount, her ambitions become threatened from an unexpected quarter: her own heart. Who will claim victory? Her dreams or the captivating boarder next door?

Enjoyed this book
I enjoy historical fiction. This was an enjoyable listen and it was interesting learning about the Tiffany Girls.
Another Deeanne Gist hit
If you could sum up Tiffany Girl in three words, what would they be?
Interesting, well written
What other book might you compare Tiffany Girl to and why?
Like other Deeanne Gist books, this one is built on the history of our country. This one was an interesting time historically as women were just beginning to speak up for their rights. Ms. Gist does a great job of developing her characters so that you understand and can envision them.
Which character as performed by Rachel Botchan was your favorite?
She did a great job on all of them, so it's impossible to pick a favorite. I was easily able to distinguish the characters from one another and she has a very pleasant voice when speaking out of character.
Any additional comments?
Whenever I finish one of Ms. Gist books, I find myself looking forward to the next one. And it can never get her quickly enough!
Gotta love a Deeanne Gist book!
I love Deeanne Gist books! Actually, I would have given this one 3.5 stars, but I rounded up to 4 because I love her work so much. I miss the Christian content in this book. It is clean and decent, but it did not include a faith message. The narrator is excellent. Her voice is perfect for this story, time period and the main character. The ending is wonderful!! :)
Engaging and sweet story
This is a very slow burn romance. The characters were well developed before they even became interested in each other and they continued to develop through out the story. I also loved and appreciated how much they grew as individuals.
It was a clean story; however, there was still sensuality and chemistry between the H/h.
