In this week's episode, Leo chats to artist Tiggy Beaman.
-
Tiggy is an artist who graduated from Loughborough University in 2020 after studying Fine Art. While at Uni her style mainly incorporated studies of the female form, inspired by the likes of Lucian Freud and Jenny Saville. Upon being removed from her studio due to the pandemic Tiggy struggled with creativity for a while but decided to start an art fundraiser #getnakedforart and was met with overwhelming responses. This led to her current series of work which focuses on depicting the nude form and helping people celebrate their own bodies.
-
Our chat covers her route into art, her time at art school, the challenge of running your artistic output as a business and the need to create original, thoughtful work.
We discussed being an artist in the time of social media and Instagram and whether there is a difference between being an artist and simply someone who enjoys painting.
-
It was a pleasure having Tiggy in to record and a huge thank you to her for taking part.
