In which the proud Queen Ann of the tiny mountain kingdom of Oogaboo, weary of dust and domesticity, resolves to raise an army from her eighteen menfolk and conquer the peaceful Land of Oz. With great ceremony, she appoints her reluctant subjects to ranks of generals, colonels, and captains, while an eager young man named Jo Files promises to be the fighting private soldier she so sorely needs.
