Tim Dwyer has been working as a consultant and advisor for 20 years. Before that, he came out of a corporate environment where he worked as a leader and executive for companies like Telstra. He headed up a division focused on supporting small and medium enterprises.
He started his consultancy because he wanted to understand the minds and hearts of what it takes to grow a small business. For the last 20 years, he has been developing his own companies to significant sizes and helping many companies navigate their growth journeys.
He has a growth agency that helps businesses on their growth journey. Tim is also part of a businesses community called One Earth which foster collaboration between industries so they can trade on the global stage. This creates a community business model.

SMEs are private enterprises which means an entrepreneur is taking a risk. Private enterprise changes the way things are done in the world.
Entrepreneurs take the risk because they want a change in lifestyle and to make a difference in the world.
Common purpose, sharing knowledge, and trading together are the common components of a business community.
A common purpose is an authentic purpose that drives decisions for the community and the customers.
An example where this is happening is in gaming companies. There is a community of developers.
Using the community approach, every employee has a voice.
Fast growth businesses start with the brand and purpose - the value they want to create. Don’t start with sales.
Purpose-led businesses grow faster and are more authentic.
Leaders are required—leadership from within. Leaders need to be more servant models. Don’t make the role about yourself and remove the ego.
