On Ask Win today (Wednesday, February 28, 2018), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Tim Timo Olson. Tim lives in Fargo North Dakota with his wife and three kids. Tim’s goal is to help others live a full and peaceful life. Tim is the author of the book “Growing Up Nobody” The story is about his life and how forgiveness has set him free. Tim is the host of “The Timo Show” pod cast where he interviews guests about their lives and how they overcame their hardships. Tim is a small business owner. Tim’s parents met as pen pals. In elementary school Tim was unable to make friends and spent most of his days alone. One of his teachers even purchased a small ball for him so that he would have something to play with at recess. Not only did Tim not have any friends but he was constantly made fun of. They made fun of his bright red hair, his homemade clothes and his “weirdness” In middle school Tim was bullied. Kids would seek him out to make fun and threaten him daily. Tim resorted to taking different routes around the school to avoid the torment. Once he even took a small pocket knife to school to stab the next kid that picked on him. Nobody made fun of him that day. One day a teacher approached Tim while he was eating lunch alone like he always did. The teacher invited him to join the theater. There Tim found his talents and friends. Tim’s dad lost his dream job working in television and radio as soon the family was on a downward fall. Tim’s parents struggled to make ends meet and family life became worse. His parents fought and his dad turned his anger onto Tim. Tim’s new found friends and positive outlook angered his dad who was failing. His father tried to control him, not allowing him to go anywhere and preventing his from seeing his friends. He wasn’t even allowed to talk to them on the phone. He felt like hw lived in a prison. The fights between his dad and himself began to increase in intensity. Tim’s parents divorced and Tim and his sister moved in with his mother. His father had checked himself into a hospital for a mental breakdown. Before his senior year in high school Tim’s mother and sister moved to California and Tim moved in with his dad. Tim discovered that his dad had a mental illness that was taking over his life. In 1989 Tim received a phone call informing him that his mother had passed away. Soon he was taking car of his sister and father. In 1992 Tim met his now wife, then three months later his dad was diagnosed with cancer. He died two months later. Tim was 24. Tim finally went to school and received a degree in business management. He married his wife, they had three children and they worked and did the best they could to make life work. They struggled in many ways, financially and emotionally. With no guidance they did their best and forged ahead. Tim felt a lot of anger at the world and those around him. During a church service Tim and his wife decided to attend a class. Something they had never done before. They attended to meet some people not learn about Christ. During the class someone asked a simple question that started Tim on his way to being a Christian. The question “Would you like us to pray for you” changed Tim forever. During his study’s Tim learned about forgiveness. He learned that if he ever wanted to be really happy that he would have to forgive those around him, even if they never asked for it. Tim believes that forgiveness it the key to a happy life. Tim now helps others live better lives by sharing his story. To learn more about Tim visit http://www.timolson.info/.
