The key to walking in wisdom is to live under the influence of God's Spirit.  This, in turn, will produce the qualities of worship, gratitude and submission.  Several instances of submission are now outlined starting with marriage.  I take it, Paul's interest here is in showing how Christianity restores old forms (patriarchy) to their original ideal (vs. eliminating them!).
