Series: More Than Words Message: Time Matters
When It Comes To Time:
A. No one is born with UNLIMITED DAYS.
(Psalm 144:4)(ESV) Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.
(Psalm 90:12) (NIV) Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
B. When it’s GONE ITS GONE.
(Isaiah 43:18-19) (NIV) 18“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing!
C. Every MOMENT MATTERS.
(Romans 14:12)(NIV) So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
(2 Corinthians 5:10)(NIV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
(Hebrews 9:27)(KJV) it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Making The Most Of Your Time
1. Choose to live each day to the FULLEST.
(John 10:10)(NIV) Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest.”
(Ephesians 5:15-21) (ESV) 15Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
(James 4:13-17) (NLT) 13Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” 16Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. 17Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
2. Make sure your soul is ETERNALLY PREPARED.
(Mark 8:36-38) (NLT) Jesus said, “36And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? 37Is anything worth more than your soul? 38If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
(1 John 5:11-13) (NIV) 11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
3. WALK CLOSELY with God.
(1 Corinthians 1:9)(NIV) God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Genesis 5:8)(NIV) Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
(Genesis 6:9)(NIV) This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
(James 4:7-10) (NIV) 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
4. Live with INTENTIONAL OBE
