Timid Tumy is an expat kids who travels to a French-speaking country with his family. He is hesitant to get to know this new place and use this new language, but once he begins to wander around his neighborhood he gets more and more comfortable doing both. Eventually, he overcomes his shyness and hesitancy and embraces the newness of his home and the French language. The book is written in English, but has many basic French phrases sprinkled throughout the pages.
