TIMWOOD is an acronym used in Lean Six Sigma methodology to identify seven types of waste that commonly occur in business processes. The acronym stands for:

T – Transportation

I – Inventory
M – Motion
W – Waiting
O – Overproduction
O - Over-processing
D – Defects

These types of waste can add cost, time, and errors to a process, leading to lower efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Organizations can streamline their processes, reduce costs, and improve their bottom line by identifying and eliminating these types of waste.
